The desk
Who keeps Nearest Territory
Nearest Territory, the guide to Alberta's 30 casinos, is kept by its own team, the Straight Line desk, with no personal byline. The guide exists because in a province this wide, the first question is which casino lies nearest in a straight line.
Who keeps the guide
The Straight Line desk keeps this guide and works for it alone. The desk signs as a group, and no name appears as a byline anywhere on the site. It works out every distance and territory itself. A territory is the stretch of Alberta nearer to one casino than to any other. Nearness is measured in a straight line, never along roads.
Nearest Territory is not a casino. Nobody can place a bet here or open an account. The desk serves only the guide and takes no money from casinos, operators, AGLC or the Alberta iGaming Corporation. The guide earns its keep through paid links on the home page, and every one carries an Ad label. Inner pages have no paid links.
How the facts are checked
The desk checked casino facts between October 7 and October 9, 2026. It read the casinos' and operators' own pages, along with AGLC's casino directory. A few casino sites refuse automated reading; for those, the desk read archived copies of the same pages. If two sources give different figures, the guide either drops the figure or points out the gap.
Distances are straight lines over the earth's surface, not road kilometres. Casino and town coordinates both come from OpenStreetMap. Roads, rivers, mountains and ferries are not counted. The town list holds 137 places that OpenStreetMap tags as a city or town in Alberta, read on October 9, 2026. Villages and hamlets fall outside it.
About the pictures
Every picture on the site comes from image software, not a camera. The people shown are invented, and no picture was made at a casino. The four zone pages open with painted landscapes: foothills, a river valley, badlands and boreal forest.
Four casino pages show painted views made after photographs of the real places. Century Mile Racetrack & Casino's page has two, an exterior and a dining room. The other three are Grand Villa Casino Edmonton, River Cree Resort & Casino and PURE Casino Lethbridge. No casino page carries a camera photograph. A board or tag on a picture shows one measured fact, computed by the guide.
Writing to the desk
Mail for the guide goes to mailbox@casinoalberta.online. Readers write in with a correction, a detail that has changed, or a question about the guide's methods. That inbox is run by the guide and has no tie to any casino. Anyone with a question for a casino should call that casino's own phone line.
